Due to continuous rains for two consecutive days, the traffic was stopped at Parshuram Ghat (Mumbai-Goa Highway) due to landslide. As per information, there was a big traffic jam in the ghat. Traffic in the ghat was restored after the boulders on the highway were removed.

As soon as the Chiplun Police and Revenue Administration got the information about this incident, the officials rushed to Parshuram Ghat. The debris due to landslide was accumulated on the ghat which led to congestion as the traffic was stopped for a brief period.

In the wake of Ganeshotsav, the Parshuram Ghat on the Mumbai-Goa highway has become sensitive as many people from Mumbai, Pune and others would visit their hometown to attend the festivity. There will be 24-hour monitoring at this place, and dumpers, JCBs have been deployed in case of a landslide. Meanwhile, the traffic in the ghat has started smoothly.

Mumbai-Goa highway witnessed a landslide a month ago. There are still some cracks on the road which needs to be addressed by the concerned authorities for safe travel.

Just like Parashuram Ghat, due to continuous rain for two days, landslide occurred at Ponda Ghat. The public works team repaired one of the cracks and opened the road for traffic. With the help of a big crane, stones were removed from the Ghat area. Later in the afternoon, Ghat was opened for traffic.
