Pune Student Halts PMPML Bus on FC Road for Instagram Reel, Faces Online Backlash
A student in Pune has sparked outrage online after a video surfaced showing him stopping a public bus on the busy Fergusson College (FC) Road just to film an Instagram Reel.
The video, now widely shared across social media, shows the student signaling a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) bus to stop. Believing the student intended to board, the driver pulled over. Instead, the student casually stepped onto the platform, pretended to tie his shoelaces, and walked away—without boarding or saying a word.
The incident visibly irritated the driver and conductor, and quickly drew criticism online. Viewers condemned the misuse of public transport and labeled the stunt as reckless and irresponsible.
“People shouldn’t be allowed to inconvenience others for social media likes,” one user commented. Another demanded that action be taken against such behavior, suggesting the student’s Instagram account be suspended.
With such disruptive antics becoming more frequent, many are now calling on authorities to impose stricter measures to deter individuals from turning public spaces into sets for viral content.
