Pune: Swift Action By Minister Murlidhar Mohol Eases Travel Woes For Stranded Flyers On Airport TerminalÂ

On the 15th of July 2024 in Pune, an Indigo flight that was scheduled to fly from Varanasi to Pune at 3 AM got suddenly canceled. This unexpected cancellation left approximately 200 passengers stuck at the Varanasi airport in the wee hours of the night. Among the passengers were children, women, elderly individuals, pregnant women, disabled persons, and individuals with heart conditions. They had checked in at the airport around 1 AM, only to find out that their flight had been canceled without any prior notification.
In a turn of events, some passengers, feeling frustrated and desperate, decided to seek help from Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol. Acting swiftly, Minister Mohol directed the airline to organize an alternative flight, promptly resolving the passengers’ issues.

Upon learning about the passenger’s predicament, Minister Mohol took action by reaching out to the appropriate authorities to secure another aircraft for the stranded travelers. The airline organized an alternative flight, allowing all passengers to reach Pune by Monday morning.
In addition to arranging the alternative flight, Minister Mohol made sure that food and beverages were provided to the passengers. The local administration acted promptly to ensure these essentials were available, alleviating the passengers’ discomfort during the wait.

“The sudden cancellation of the flight without any warning, especially in the dead of night, sparked anger among all of us passengers. We were further let down by the lack of communication from the airline. However, Union Minister Mohol’s quick response and assistance in arranging our travel to Pune were greatly appreciated,” shared one of the impacted passengers.
Minister Mohol emphasized his dedication to helping the passengers, remarking, “Upon being contacted by some passengers from the flight, I promptly directed the relevant authorities to organize an alternative flight. Furthermore, I ensured that provisions for food and beverages were made available to the passengers, a task efficiently handled by the local administration.”
