Pune: The third season of the Aswani Cricket Cup kicked off recently in Pimpri Chinchwad with enthusiasm and unity. This tournament will continue for 28 days at the Mrunal Cricket Ground in Pimpri-Chinchwad. 16 teams participated in this tournament, playing in a T-10 format with the tagline ‘Ye Hai Pimpri Ka Tyohar’. This league is kept to unite the Sindhi community, aiming at the importance of fitness and contributing to society.

Renowned industrialist & MD of Jetline India Group Rajan Navani & Associate MD Rakesh Navani inaugurated the cricket league. Chief Convenor of the league & MD of Aswani Promoters & Builders Srichand Aswani, Anil Aswani, Vijay Aswani, and team owners, sponsors, and renowned personalities from the Sindhi community were present on the occasion. The first match of the league was played between Keswani Kings Eleven & Sant Kanwaram Lions. Keswani Kings Eleven won the match by 5 wickets. 

In the third season, 16 teams are Pimpri Indians, Ratnani Knight Riders, Mangtani Titans, Tilwani Chargers, Friends Warriors, Royal Challengers Varun, Keswani Kings Eleven, Wadhwani Sunrisers, Motwani Royals, Aswani Daredevils, Sant Kanwarram Lions, Dev Tuskers, Diamond Superkings, Ramchandani SuperGiants, Sindh Blasters and Chhabria Rising Stars.

Rajan Navani & Rakesh Navani congratulated the organizing team of ACC 2024 for this community initiative to bring together the youth of the Sindhi community and make them athletes. Cricket is a medium of connecting people and we are happy that this activity is happening in Pimpri for three consecutive years. Talking to the media, they mentioned that this will produce good sportsmen and will create awareness among the youth about sports and fitness.

Kedar Jadhav said, “This league is important for inculcating sportsmanship among the youth of the Sindhi community. We should enjoy this game with team spirit and honesty. Cricket is a game that brings everyone together. Sport helps to stay mentally refreshed and physically fit. I am very happy that from this year, women have also been given the opportunity to play, and this initiative taken by the Sindhi community is commendable.”

Srichand Aswani said that the winning team will be felicitated with a cash award of Rs. 5,55,555/- and the runner-up will be given a prize of Rs. 3,33,333/-. Man of the Series will get a car, Rs. 2,51,000/-  for 6 Sixes in an over, Rs. 1,01,000/- for a hattrick wicket, Rs. 51,000/- for hattrick sixes, Rs. 10,000/- for Man of the match, Rs. 1000/- for every six and Rs. 500/- for every boundary will be awarded.
