Pune: Traffic Diversions Implemented To Avoid Congestion In Pavana During Year-End Celebrations
Traffic Diversions Announced In Pune Due To Protest March By Akhand Maratha Samaj For January 5
Pune, December 13, 2024: To prevent traffic congestion caused by tourist vehicles visiting Pavana for New Year celebrations, Pune District Collector Dr. Suhas Divase has issued traffic diversion orders. The changes will be in effect from midnight (12:00 AM) on December 30, 2024, to midnight (12:00 AM) on January 1, 2025, ensuring smooth traffic flow and law and order. Â
-Diversions for December 30, 2024: Light four-wheelers from Pune-Mumbai-Kamshet to Pavana market will be rerouted via Yeolse Gram Panchayat Fata → Shivli (via Vijay Adkar’s house) → Kothurne-Malvandi Fata → Brahmanoli → Varu Fata → Fangne → Thakursai → Khadak Gehende → Jawan → Chawasar → Morwe → Tung. However, vehicles heading towards Pavananagar, Kalegaon, Ambegaon, Shidgaon, Pale, Ghamandhara, and Dudhivare will be allowed. Â
– For Local Residents: Residents of Brahmanoli, Varu, Kothurne, and Shivli cannot use Yeolse road and will instead follow Varu Fata → Brahmanoli Fata → Pavana River Bridge → Kalegaon Fata → Pavana Market → Yeolse Kamshet. Â
– Heavy Vehicles: Entry of heavy vehicles to Pavananagar Market will be restricted. They will be diverted via Pavananagar old rest house → Kedari Khanaval Chowk → Seven Number Colony → Patrachawl Secretariat → Gram Panchayat Office. However, heavy vehicles coming from Brahmanoli, Kalegaon, and Dudhivare will proceed via Pavananagar market to Yeolse. Â
– January 1, 2025 Traffic Plan: Vehicles from Tung, Gorwe, Chawasar, Jawan, Khadak Gehende, Thakursai, and Fangne heading towards Pavananagar and Kamshet will be prohibited from entering Kale Colony and Pavananagar. They will instead follow Brahmanoli Fata → Varu Fata → Malvandi Fata → Kothurne → Shivli (via Vijay Adkar’s house) → Yeolse Gram Panchayat Fata → Pune-Mumbai-Kamshet. Â
One-way traffic will be enforced from Brahmanoli Fata → Varu Fata → Malvandi Fata → Kothurne → Shivli (via Vijay Adkar’s house) → Yeolse Gram Panchayat Fata on January 1, 2025. Residents of Varu and Brahmanoli will not be permitted via the Pavana River Bridge and will use alternative routes through Varu Fata → Malvandi Fata → Kothurne to Pavana Market.
The orders aim to manage heavy tourist inflow and ensure smooth operations during the festive season.
