Pune Traffic Police Book 172 Motorists For Drunk Driving During Three-Day Special Drive
Pune, December 1, 2025: The Pune City Traffic Police conducted a three-day special crackdown on drunk driving, taking strict action against motorists caught violating safety norms.
The campaign was carried out between November 28 and November 30, 2025. During this period, the traffic department set up checkpoints at 30 locations across the city to monitor and inspect vehicles.
As part of the drive, a total of 172 motorists were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Appropriate penalties and legal procedures were initiated against the offenders under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The Pune City Traffic Police has urged all citizens to strictly follow traffic rules and avoid driving after consuming alcohol, stressing that drunk driving is a serious offence that significantly increases the risk of accidents.
