Pune Traffic Police Issue Special Diversions For Bakri Eid At Golibar Maidan

On the occasion of Bakri Eid, to be celebrated on June 7, 2025, a large number of devotees are expected to gather at Eidgah Maidan, near Golibar Chowk, Pune, for morning prayers. To ensure smooth and safe vehicular movement, the Pune City Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic diversions and restrictions in the surrounding areas.

The directives have been issued under the powers granted by the Maharashtra Government notification dated 27/09/1996 and sections 115, 116(1)(A)(B), 116(4), and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Dr. Sandeep Bhajibhakare, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) with additional charge of Traffic, has released the following orders:

Traffic Restrictions on June 7, 2025 (Saturday):

Time: From 6:00 AM until the completion of Eid prayers

Restricted Zones and Alternate Routes:

  1. Bhairobanala to Golibar Maidan:
    • Heavy traffic will be restricted from Bhairobanala towards Golibar between 6:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
    • Alternate: Heavy vehicles to Market Yard via Prince of Wales Road–Lullanagar Chowk; light vehicles towards Pune Station via Empress Garden Road.
  2. Mammadewi Chowk to Golibar Maidan:
    • Vehicles heading to Golibar Maidan via Mammadewi Chowk will be diverted via Bishop School Road or Command route.
  3. CDAO Chowk to Golibar Maidan:
    • Complete restriction during prayer time (6:00 AM–11:30 AM).
  4. From Seven Loves Chowk towards Golibar Maidan:
    • All vehicular traffic will be halted.
  5. Old Solapur Bazar Chowk to Golibar Chowk:
    • Complete restriction on this route.
  6. Heavy and Passenger Vehicles from Lullanagar Chowk towards Golibar:
    • Entry prohibited for all heavy goods and passenger vehicles, including ST and PMPML buses.

Suggested Diversions for Restricted Traffic:

  • Vehicles from Lullanagar to proceed via Hospital Road or Napier Road and then CDAO Chowk.
  • From Khatau Bungalow Chowk, vehicles can turn right (temporarily allowed), proceed via Napier Road, and reach Mammadewi Chowk through Bishop School Road.
  • From Bhairobanala and Khane Maruti Chowk, vehicles can use Pul Gate Depot or Solapur Bazaar Chowk via Napier Road.
  • From Lullanagar Chowk, vehicles may use Gangadham Chowk or Bhairobanala Chowk.

Other Areas:

Traffic movement may be temporarily closed or diverted in other localities of the city as well, depending on crowd size near Eidgah prayer sites.

The Pune Traffic Police have appealed to all citizens and commuters to cooperate with authorities and follow the diversions to avoid inconvenience.
