PUNE: The Aqua Line of the Pune Metro, which connects Bund Garden to Ramwadi, is nearing completion, and Maha Metro is preparing to commence preliminary trials by the end of this month.

As per the information provided, this section is a crucial component of the Vanaz to Ramwadi Metro route, and upon its opening, the public will have access to the entire 15.7-kilometer Metro route, resulting in significant changes to Pune’s transportation system.

As per the information received, Maha Metro is committed to completing the remaining work on two metro routes before the year ends, to provide the public with a seamless and efficient metro service.

While talking to Pune Pulse, Hemant Sonawane added, ”Trial runs for the Bund Garden to Ramwadi stretch will begin at the end of this month or the beginning of next month. The team is working diligently to construct overhead traction and signalling systems at the stations while maintaining the viaduct between Bund Garden and Ramwadi.”

The Pune Metro Rail Project comprises two major corridors: the north-south corridor (Purple Line) and the east-west corridor (Aqua Line). The Aqua Line, currently operating between Ruby Hall and Ramwadi, spans a total length of 33 km, with 30 strategically located stations.

It primarily consists of elevated tracks, serving bustling areas such as Yerawada, Kalyani Nagar, and significant parts of Nagar Road, providing commuters with a convenient and efficient transportation option to the city’s eastern regions. Furthermore, the Civil Court to Swargate Metro stretch of the Purple Line, which is still under construction, is expected to be fully operational by December.
