Pune: Trio Impersonating Politicians Caught Filming Woman at Pune Massage Parlour; Arrested for Blackmail (VIDEO)
Pune: Three individuals who allegedly posed as politicians and blackmailed a woman by recording an obscene video at an Ayurvedic treatment centre in Dhankawadi have been arrested by the Sahakarnagar Police.
The accused have been identified as Rohit Gurudutt Waghmare (29, Warje Malwadi), Shubham Changdev Dhanwate (20, Uttamnagar), and Rahul Dnyaneshwar Waghmare (36, Paud Road, Kothrud), officials said.
How the Incident Unfolded
According to DCP Zone II Smartana Patil, the incident took place on March 3 when Rohit Waghmare visited the Ayurvedic treatment centre for a massage. Before the session, he discreetly placed his mobile phone inside his shirt pocket and hung it on a hook to record the session.
During the massage, Waghmare allegedly pressured the woman to remove her top, threatening to shut down the centre by claiming he was a political leader. He then forcibly made her comply and later returned with two others to demand ₹20,000 in exchange for not making the video viral. When the woman refused, the accused forcibly took ₹800 from the counter and left.
Repeated Offenses & Arrest
Police investigations revealed that the trio had used this modus operandi multiple times, targeting massage parlours and using secretly recorded videos for extortion.
Initially hesitant to report the crime due to fear, the victim later approached the Women’s Commission, which led to a police probe. Using technical analysis, law enforcement tracked down and arrested the accused.
Authorities are continuing the investigation to uncover other potential victims and determine the full extent of the group’s activities.
