Pune : Two persons from Pune to participate in ‘Mann Ki Baat@100’ National Conclave in New Delhi

To mark the 100th episode of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ monthly address, Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is organizing a day long National Conclave on “Mann Ki Baat@100” at New Delhi on 26 April 2023.

The Conclave will be graced by Jagdeep Dhankar, Vice President of India, in the presence of Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports. Seven, from among the many persons from Maharashtra, who were mentioned by the Prime Minister in different episodes of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ over the years, have been invited as esteemed guests for the National Conclave. They include Chandrakant Damodar Kulkarni, Bandu Sitaram Dhotre, Sonali Helvi, Rajendra Yadav, Doctor Borse, Chandrakishore Patil and Sharmila Oswal.

The National Conclave will bring together around 100 esteemed citizens from various parts of the country whose names have been mentioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in the previous episodes of “Mann Ki Baat”. These individuals have made remarkable contributions towards nation building, as recognized by the Prime Minister in his monthly broadcasts.

Chandrakant Kulkarni from Pune, has pledged to donate Rs.5,000/- for the Cleanliness Drive out of his Rs.16000 pension per month. Bandu Sitaram Dhotre from Chandrapur is the President of an NGO called Ecological Protection Organization which launched a cleanliness campaign in and around Chandrapur Fort. Sonali Helvi from Satara is the Captain of Maharashtra Under-21 Women’s Kabaddi team. Rajendra Yadav is an innovative farmer from Nashik, who set up a vaccination van during Covid 19 by using his tractor. Doctor Borse from Pune is a Covid Warrior. Chandrakishore Patil was mentioned by the Prime Minister for his efforts to clean Godavri River in Nashik. Sharmila Oswal, a resident of Kenad village near Alibaug, has been contributing in a unique way in the production of millets for the last 20 years and is known as Millets woman.

During the inaugural session, the Vice President will release two books. The first book is a coffee table book on “Mann Ki Baat@100”, which highlights the journey of the program and its transformative impact in fostering direct communication between the Prime Minister and the citizens. The second book, titled “Collective Spirit, Concrete Action” by Shri S.S. Vempati, former CEO of Prasar Bharati, documents the diverse themes covered by PM Modi’s conversations in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, encompassing social, economic, environmental, cultural, health, and fitness issues that resonate with the heart of the nation.

The National Conclave will also feature four sessions, each highlighting the wide-ranging themes of Prime Minister’s interactions during ‘Mann Ki Baat’. These sessions will be facilitated by eminent panels and will showcase the empowering effect of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ in connecting citizens directly with the Prime Minister and inspiring them to become agents of change.
