The residents of mainly Atur Nagar society in Undri are facing inconvenience due to school buses parked on the main road.

Earlier, the road was occupied by shops which were illegally built up, they were demolished by Pune Municipal Corporation recently. But the space has now been taken up by the private school buses.

The local residents are stating that the road has become narrow due to the parking of buses. The school should make alternate arrangements of parking of buses. The stretch from Undri chowk to Kad Nagar is a busy road, which sees heavy traffic of PMPML buses, water tankers, and other heavy vehicles apart from private cars. There are four to five major schools in the vicinity and buses continue to ply. With the parking of Euro school buses, the road becomes left with no space for other vehicles.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Suresh M from Atur Nagar society said, “The road is left with no space. The Pune Traffic Police must take cognisance of the incident and penalise the school.”

Another resident of the area complained that the school buses are parked causing major inconvenience for the residents. Pedestrians are forced to walk on the main road risking their lives.

Vishwas Kadam, a resident of Atur Nagar said, “The parking of these buses has increased in the last few months. Earlier, there were shops in the same place. Even after the PMC took action our problem has not been solved. We are compelled to walk on the road which makes it very risky.”

Pune Pulse tried contacting the Kondhwa traffic police division but there was no response.
