Pune University main entrance closed for vehicular traffic. Read details here for the new route. 

Access to vehicles from the main entrance of Savitribai Phule Pune University at Acharya Anandrishiji Chowk (University Chowk) has been closed. The traffic police have decided this route as a solution to the traffic congestion in the university area. So, to go to the university, Millennium Gate can be used.

The metro and flyover works in the university premises, Ganeshkhind Road, Aundh-Baner and Senapati Bapat Road cause massive traffic jams in the mornings and evenings. So far, many plans have been made to solve this dilemma. Even after that, there was no relief from the dilemma. So now, the traffic police have come up with another option.

These will be the changes

·         Entry to the university by turning right from Acharya Anandrishiji Chowk on Senapati Bapat road and Ganeshkhind road is not allowed.

·         Those coming through this road should go straight from Acharya Anandrishiji Chowk to Chatushrungi Police Station.

·         Turn right from there and enter the university through the Millennium Gate.

·         Motorists coming from Aundh will not be allowed to enter the university through the main entrance. They will also have to go through the Millennium Gate.

·         Motorists coming from Baner Road will have to turn left at Acharya Anandrishiji Chowk and take Aundh Road from Chaturshrungi Police Station to Millennium Gate.
