Pune: Van Mahotsav organized by Tree Authority Of PMC at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Park on June 5

On the occasion of “World Environment Day”, a forest festival (Van Mahotsav) is being organized by the Tree Authority and Park Department through the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje Park on June 5. This is a festival which takes place every year to celebrate World Environment Day. This year too it has been held to plant numerous trees in the city and encourage citizens to do the same.

Seedlings of local tree species will be sold at low prices on Wednesday at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Park, Junglee Maharaj Road, Pune. 

From the period of June 5, 2024, to August 14, 2024, plants of one to one and a half feet in height will be made available to citizens at a low price of Rs 5. The period of receiving saplings would be 8 AM to 4 PM and the sale of trees will be held excluding holidays. 

The Forest Festival will be inaugurated on June 5 at 11 am under the patronage of the Honourable Municipal Commissioner and Administrator of the Pune Municipal Corporation. It is requested that all Punekars should take advantage of this festival and contribute to increasing the green cover of this city by participating in tree plantation.
