In a recent development regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Vasant More, who previously declared his intent to contest after departing from the MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena), found himself open to running with the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition.

However, with indications pointing towards the confirmation of Congress MLA Ravindra Dhangekar as the candidate, More’s aspirations for a nomination have waned. Responding suggestively via social media, he hinted at the possibility of an independent candidacy, stating, “I will see how elections will happen one-sided.”

Taking to social media, More expressed, “तरीपण निवडणूक एकतर्फी कशी होते बघतोच मी… (I will see how elections will happen one-sided).” More, a longstanding member of the MNS and a loyal supporter of Raj Thackeray since its inception, resigned from the party recently, expressing his ambition to contest in the Lok Sabha elections. He had sought nomination from the Congress, engaging with Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders Sharad Pawar and Sanjay More. More also noted that his former colleague from Pune, Ravindra Dhangekar, the current MLA, and the city president, Arvind Shinde, understood his perspective.

Pune’s Lok Sabha seat falls under the Congress’s jurisdiction within the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, and consequently, Dhangekar’s nomination appears imminent. Against this backdrop, More’s remarks on social media regarding the perceived one-sided nature of the election have sparked speculation about his potential independent candidacy.
