The increasing fatal accidents on the road due to plying of heavy vehicles, flouting the norms and no safety measures for other motorists has forced the residents to hold a meeting with Wagholi police station officials at Kesnand phata in Wagholi today April 26 at 5 PM.

A resident complained that the residents of the area are compelled to ignore their employment and seek follow up on water, electricity, road safety, keeping area hoarding free, etc. which is ideally the job of the government.

Vinayak, a software developer who resides in the area complained that there are absolutely no measures of road safety being followed on this route. There are no adequate police staff present to monitor the traffic. There are no CCTVs installed and no control by any authority in this area.

Anil Mishra, an active resident of Wagholi told Pune Pulse that citizens life has no value to the authorities. We have been following up with many authorities on many issues but all our pleas have gone on deaf ears. Hence, we are compelled to take stern action now. Why is no government authority keen on taking any effective steps on making Wagholi better and most importantly safe to drive.
