For the last few weeks, residents are living in fear, as monkeys are biting residents living in Wanowrie. Mazahir Nassir, a resident of Premanand Park in Wanowrie informed Pune Pulse that a monkey bit his wife when she was working in their balcony.
He said, “This incident has spread a shocker to my wife. She is on medication now and is in fear due to monkeys straying in the residential premises.”

Monkeys are also seen in the public garden of Pune Municipal Corporation, Viithalrao Shivarkar garden and scaring visitors in the garden.

Mazahir further said, “PMC or the Forest department must take some action. If the PMC doesnt want to take any action, atleast restrict their movements by trimming the overgrown tree branches.”
