Pune: Ward-Wise Voter List Preparation Begins After Final Ward Formation Approved For PMC Elections 2025
Pune, October 30, 2025: The State Election Commission of Maharashtra has given its approval to the final ward formation for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections 2025. The official announcement regarding the approved ward structure was made on October 6, 2025, marking a key step toward conducting the civic polls.
With this development, the Pune Municipal Corporation has begun the process of preparing ward-wise voter lists. The exercise has been initiated across all regional offices, ensuring that every eligible voter is accurately registered under the appropriate ward based on the new delimitation.
On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Additional Municipal Commissioner (General), Omprakash Divte, conducted an inspection of the ongoing voter list preparation work at several regional offices. His visit was aimed at monitoring the progress and ensuring adherence to the election commission’s timeline.
During the review, Divte interacted with the officials and staff members involved in the compilation of the voter lists. He emphasized the importance of precision and accountability in the process, highlighting that any errors or delays could impact the smooth conduct of the elections.
He also issued clear instructions to complete the voter list preparation within the stipulated schedule. The focus remains on ensuring that every eligible citizen is included, and that the final lists are error-free and transparent before submission to the election authorities.
The PMC administration is now working on finalising the voter lists swiftly and efficiently. This move is seen as a crucial preparatory milestone in the run-up to the much-anticipated municipal elections, which will shape the civic leadership and governance of Pune for the next term.
