Pune Weather Update: Rising Temperatures Across Maharashtra, Heatwave Intensifies in Several Districts
Pune: Maharashtra is experiencing intense heat as temperatures continue to rise across multiple cities. While the days remain scorching, nights bring slight relief with cooler conditions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures are expected to remain stable over the next five days, with no heatwave warnings issued.
Several cities, including Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Sangli, Satara, Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Jalgaon, Bhusawal, Akola, Nagpur, Solapur, and Amravati, are witnessing rising mercury levels. In the afternoons, venturing outdoors has become increasingly uncomfortable due to the intense heat. March temperatures are already soaring, indicating an early summer onset.
Temperatures Soar to 39-41°C in Several Regions
In several parts of the state, temperatures have reached 39°C, with Solapur recording between 39°C and 41°C this week. Pune also saw temperatures hitting 39°C yesterday, marking an ongoing trend of extreme heat in the region. The IMD has predicted that Pune’s weather will remain stable in the coming days, with no immediate relief from the heat.
Sangli has also reported rising temperatures, with yesterday’s high reaching 38°C. However, the IMD has not issued any heatwave alerts for the next five days, and the overall weather across Maharashtra is expected to remain dry.
Dry Weather to Persist for the Next Five Days
Satara recorded a maximum temperature of 37°C yesterday, while coastal districts in the Konkan region are expected to experience humid and warm conditions. Western Maharashtra continues to witness fluctuating temperatures, with the next five days likely to remain dry.
In Mumbai, the afternoon heat has intensified, making it essential for residents to take precautions while stepping outdoors. Given the rising temperatures and increased humidity in certain areas, authorities advise citizens to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
