Pune Weather Update: Rising Temperatures Expected as Clear Skies Take Over

Pune: Residents of Pune should prepare for hotter days ahead as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a steady rise in temperatures due to a shift from partly cloudy conditions to clear skies. According to IMD, temperatures will begin climbing from March 24, with the mercury expected to reach 39°C by March 28.

IMD officials explained that the recent cloud cover had helped keep temperatures in check by reflecting solar radiation. However, with clearer skies, direct sunlight will lead to increased heat levels, making the coming days significantly warmer.

On Saturday, Pune recorded a maximum temperature of 36.6°C and a minimum of 15.4°C. In comparison, on March 19, the city’s temperature peaked at 38.7°C, with a minimum of 18.1°C, according to a TOI report. Meanwhile, Bramhapuri recorded Maharashtra’s highest temperature at 39.3°C, lower than the 40°C+ readings observed earlier in mid-March. Akola, which reported 41.1°C on March 19, saw a slight dip to 39.1°C.

IMD’s latest forecast indicates a gradual rise of 2-4°C in maximum temperatures across Central India and Interior Maharashtra over the next four to five days. Additionally, the department warned of declining moisture levels, with dry weather expected across most districts in the state.

The seven-day forecast for Pune predicts clear skies from March 24 onwards, with daytime temperatures steadily increasing. By March 28, the city could experience a high of 39°C, marking the peak of this warming trend. Residents are advised to take precautions against the heat as summer conditions intensify.
