Pune: The Chandan Nagar BRTS Stop #27, notorious for its high frequency of accidents, continues to pose a grave danger to commuters. Despite repeated concerns raised by residents and commuters, no corrective measures have been implemented to enhance safety at this accident-prone location.
A concerned resident of the area has put up a board renaming it as Yamraj chowk.
Similarly, the road stretch near Decathlon Sports, Wagholi, has become another hazardous zone. The uneven height between the road and the missing footpath has led to multiple accidents. The absence of glow-in-the-dark indicators to mark road borders further worsens the situation, making night travel particularly dangerous.
Adding to the risk, no rumble strips or ‘Go Slow – Accident Prone’ signage have been placed along the stretch, leaving motorists unaware of the impending danger.
With safety concerns mounting, residents and daily commuters are urging the local authorities to take immediate action by implementing proper road signage, marking road borders, and installing rumble strips to prevent further mishaps.
