Pune wins three titles under Swachh Bharat Mission
The recently held Swachh Bharat Mission award ceremony saw Pune city winning in three categories. The award ceremony held in New Delhi was attended by Pune Municipal Corporation Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Additional commissioner Dr Kunal Khemnar and Dr Ketaki Ghadge.

Pune city won the Best Self Sustainable Big City award, fifth position in Swachh Survekshan (under more than 10 lakh population category) and recognition as Garbage Free City (3 stars).
Mohol while sharing the news said it is indeed an honour for Pune city to receive these awards. It is the result of collective efforts taken by citizens, NGO’s, PMC, PMC staff who made this possible.
In the previous Survekshan Pune city was at 15th position. Mohol further said that despite the Covid19 pandemic hitting us badly, we never compromised on cleanliness in the last year. Cleanliness and hygiene were given top priority and that’s where we achieved the target of reaching to the new heights.
