The scorching heat has intensified in Pune, with the city experiencing a maximum temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.

Solapur recorded the highest temperature in the state at 37.8 degrees Celsius, making Pune the third hottest city in Maharashtra on the same day.

The cold season is gradually becoming less severe in North India, with areas like Karnal in Haryana recording a low of 4.2 degrees Celsius.

A low-pressure belt extending from East Vidarbha to Telangana and Karnataka contributed to the rising temperatures.

Following Solapur, Sangli recorded a temperature of 35.8 degrees Celsius, and Pune’s Shivaji Nagar and Lohegaon reported temperatures above the average, with Shivaji Nagar reaching 16.1 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

The sky is expected to remain partly cloudy from the upcoming Saturday in Pune and surrounding areas, providing some relief from the heat.

The Meteorological Department predicts a drop in the maximum temperature to 33 to 32 degrees Celsius.

Vidarbha and Marathwada are anticipated to experience favorable weather for rain, with light rain forecasted in the state alongside cloudy weather from the following Friday.
