Pune: Young Man Attempts Suicide in Katraj Ghat Over Debt
A young man in Katraj Ghat attempted suicide by shooting himself with a country-made pistol, reportedly due to financial debt. The incident came to light around 10 PM on Monday when patrolling police discovered the injured man and rushed him to Sassoon Hospital.
Initially, the man claimed he had been stopped by thieves in Katraj Ghat and shot when he refused to hand over money. However, further investigation by the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police, led by Senior Inspector, raised suspicions about the validity of his statement.
Upon questioning, the youth admitted that he had attempted to end his life because of mounting debt. The police are now investigating the origin of the country-made pistol used in the incident.
The injured man is currently receiving treatment, and the case remains under active investigation by the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police.
