Pune: Young Woman Attacks Female Officers During Police Inquiry in Kondhwa Police StationÂ
Pune, January 15, 2025: A young woman brought in for questioning regarding a two-year-old theft case assaulted two female police officers at the Kondhwa Police Station. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening around 5:45 PM. According to the police, the 18-year-old was summoned for inquiry in a 2023 theft case. She arrived at the station accompanied by her parents, Kumaran Jayaraman Pillai (48) and Sheetal Kumaran Pillai (46), along with a 14-year-old boy.
While being questioned by Police Sub-Inspector Balaji Digole, the 18 year old started arguing loudly. When a female officer tried to intervene and calm her down, she verbally abused her and struck her. She then bit another female officer’s hand, scratched her with her nails, and kicked her in the abdomen.
Sheetal Pillai also joined in and kicked one of the officers in the stomach, while Falguni and Sheetal scratched and injured the officers further.
Meanwhile, the 18 year old’s father, Kumaran, and the minor boy allegedly pushed other officers, threatening them with complaints to higher authorities and job termination. The 18 year old also damaged a printer in the investigation room.
The Kondhwa Police have filed a case against all four individuals under multiple charges, including obstructing government work. Assistant Police Inspector Mohasin Pathan is investigating the case.
