Pune: In a grand rally accompanied by traditional Dhol-Tasha music, the citizens of Pune cordially welcomed the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy to their city.

This marked the first occasion for the residents to witness the trophy up close.

The Maharashtra Cricket Association Cricket Stadium in Gahunje, Pune has been designated as the venue for five matches of the forthcoming ICC Cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in India. The opening match between India and Bangladesh is slated for October 19th, followed by four additional matches at the same location.

To engage all residents of Pune in commemorating this momentous event, a procession featuring the Cricket World Cup trophy was arranged today.

As per the information received, Pune was granted authorization to conduct this procession following a request from the ICC and BCCI, to encourage citizens to view the trophy and capture a photograph with it.

The procession included visits to Symbiosis College, BMCC College, Marathwada Mitra Mandal Commerce College, and Fergusson College. Despite inclement weather, enthusiastic young individuals took to the streets, creating a festive ambiance reminiscent of a carnival.
