Pune, June 2, 2026: Arohi Deshpande, a student with roots in Pune, has emerged as the highest-ranked female candidate in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026, securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 77.

Arohi’s success was supported by a strong family environment. After she completed Class 9, her parents relocated with her from Pune to Kota, Rajasthan, a city known for its competitive exam coaching institutes. Her father, Prasad Deshpande, works in the IT sector, while her mother, Amita Deshpande, is an environmental engineer.

Despite achieving an impressive rank, Arohi said she never focused on securing a specific position. Instead, her goal was to perform to the best of her abilities on the examination day. Her primary objective throughout her preparation was to clear JEE Advanced, and she did not undertake any separate preparation exclusively for JEE Main.

Beyond academics, she enjoys painting, reading books, and listening to music. Looking ahead, she plans to pursue a B.Tech in Computer Science.

This year, 1,79,694 candidates appeared for JEE Advanced, held on May 17, 2026. Out of them, 56,880 students qualified. Notably, 10,107 female candidates cleared the examination, marking a significant milestone in the participation and success of women in engineering entrance examinations.
