Due to the absence of Foot Overbridge (FOB) at Patas railway station, passengers warned the authorities of doing a Rail Roko protest. MLA Rahul Kul asked the authorities to start work for FOB at the earliest.

As per further information shared by Pune Gramin Railway Pravasi Group, no overhead bridge is causing hardships to commuters of Patas Railway Station. Today morning (12th March), train no 01524 Daund-Pune shuttle was stopped for 25 to 30 minutes in strike against Railway Administration for not Constructing FOB for passengers.

As per commuters, Gati Shakti Cargo Goods Terminal has been constructed in very few days with siding line, subway. They have been demanding a Foot Overbridge since several years but it hasn’t been constructed yet.

As per information from a member of Pune Gramin Railway Pravasi Group, the work of an FOB at Patas Railway Station is very easy & minor. However, it hasn’t been done yet. As this being a crowded & everyday commuting station, there has to be an FOB constructed here. Currently, due to absence of an FOB, the male passengers have to directly cross from the railway platforms with the help of railway couplings & the female passengers have to go from under the stopped train. By chance, if the train moves, then how fatal & problematic can this get.

Here is an interesting read about Pune-Daund Railway:

Pune’s suburban railway network’ also known as Pune – Lonavala Local completed 46 years on March 11, 2024. If we look at the history of the last 46 years, Pune has never got a new EMU rake fresh from the factory –

Currently, the passengers are travelling from Pune to Lonavala on the old rake given to Pune which was earlier used in the Mumbai suburban. However, now passengers are expecting that Pune will get a new Bombardier or Medha EMU rake this year.
