Pune – The Pune Zilla Parishad has undergone significant administrative changes with the appointment of Ramesh Chavan as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Concurrently, Ayush Prasad has been appointed as the Collector of Jalgaon. Both officials are expected to assume their respective roles within the next two days.

Ramesh Chavan, the newly appointed CEO, brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He completed his graduation from Mahatma Phule Agricultural University, Rahuri, specializing in B.Sc (Agriculture). His journey in the revenue service commenced in 1996 when he successfully cleared the competitive examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Public Service Commission, securing the position of Deputy Collector.

Throughout his career, Chavan has served in various key roles, including Resident Deputy Collector of Satara and Solapur, Additional Commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and Joint Secretary in the Revenue Department. His dedication and expertise led to his selection in the prestigious Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in September 2019, marking a significant milestone in his career.

In parallel, Ayush Prasad, the outgoing CEO of Pune Zilla Parishad, has been a prominent figure in the administration. He assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer on 21 January 2020 and dedicated nearly three and a half years to this position. Within that time frame, he also held the responsibility of Zilla Parishad administrator for approximately one and a half years.

The recent appointments come as the government aims to ensure effective governance and administrative efficiency in both Pune Zilla Parishad and Jalgaon. Ramesh Chavan’s extensive background in the revenue service and administrative expertise, coupled with Ayush Prasad’s experience during his tenure as CEO, are expected to contribute significantly to the progress and development of their respective regions. The changes reflect the state’s commitment to placing skilled and capable individuals in positions of authority to drive positive changes and serve the citizens effectively.
