Resolve water logging issues from Rose Parade and Nivedita Garden Condominium; urge residents

For the last many years, residents of Nivedita Garden Condominium and Rose Parade often struggled to wade through the rain water due to wrongly positioned storm water and sewage line.

Since the problems increased in the past few years the residents approached local Corporator Nanda Lonkar Prabhag 26 requesting her to resolve it by providing a permanent solution.

The corporator on July 5, 2021 requested Dr Kunal Khemnar, additional commissioner to visit the chronic water logging issues arising in Nivedita Garden Condominium and Rose Parade and near Kondhwa Crematorium.

Nanda Lonkar, Prabhag 26, local Corporator she said, “The residents have been in great trouble due to water logging in their basements and parking lots damaging their vehicles. I have been consistently taking follow up with the civic authorities to resolve it. Finally, today, additional commissioner Dr Kunal Khemnar visited the areas and have asked the concerned department to take further action and resolve it.”

Jamshed Karkaria, treasurer, Nivedita Garden Condominium said, “Every year in monsoon we face water logging in our parking lot. The chambers outside our society throw the water out and water starts accumulating in our society. Our residents find it difficult. It has severely affected our cars too. We have written multiple times to the authorities. With today’s visit we are hopeful that the problem is resolved.”

Another society which faces similar problem is Rose Parade. In the year 2019 when it rained heavily the electrical panels and meter room had high level of water. Cars and two wheelers were damaged greatly.

Suchitra Deore, secretary, Rose Parade said, “We have been struggling to resolve this issue. Today when the civic officials visited our society we apprised them of the situation in our society due to wrong positioned system. He has agreed to look into it at the earliest. “

Dr Kunal Khemnar additional commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation has asked the officials to inspect the entire sewage system and find out the exact cause of problem.
