Restaurant on wheels proposed at Akurdi & 3 more railway stations

Pune: After Chinchwad & Pune railway stations, a ‘Restaurant on wheels’ has been proposed to begin at 4 railway stations.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, a PRO official of Pune Railway Division said, “A proposal has been received about starting a ‘restaurant on wheels’ at Akurdi, Shivaji Nagar, Baramati & Miraj. Its further planning, execution, erection etc is yet to happen which will begin soon.”

As per further information, for the restaurant on wheels at the 4 stations, the railway department will give a reputed hotel company the charge to create & operate it. Every day, thousands of students, workers and citizens travel by train from Akurdi railway station. This railway station is always crowded. Accordingly, various facilities are being worked on at the station. Hence, a restaurant on wheels is proposed to start here.

The restaurant on wheels by Pune Railway Division commenced operations on November 22 with the guidance of Indu Dubey, Divisional Railway Manager, Brijeshkumar Singh, Additional Divisional Railway Manager and under the leadership of Dr Milind Hirawe, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager.

The restaurant on wheels is located near the Pune Divisional Railway Manager office & it has been constructed on a 100 square meter area alongside Tadiwala road around Pune Railway Station.
