Road widening work at Jyoti chowk to start soon
Pune Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vikram Kumar on August 4, 2021, visited Prabhag 26 – NIBM – KAUSARBAUGH – MOHAMMADWADI to resolve issues of road widening from Jyoti Chowk to Kondhwa Gaothan, Jyoti chowk to Bakers Point, Bhim Nagar and Cloud 9. The visit was arranged to apprise him of the space acquisition issues of the road at all these locations.
The order was issued by deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar earlier but the actual work of acquisition had not started.
Vikram Kumar was also apprised of the drainage system issues rising in Elina Living, Raheja Vista, Ganga Florentina, Ganga Kingston, Archana Paradise. He immediately asked the drainage department and STP department officials to take necessary action and resolve the issue. He ordered stern action against those letting their drainage on the main road.
Prabhag 26 Corporator Nanda Lonkar said, “There were several issues pending related to road widening on Nibm road which often faced congestion. We invited Commissioner to apprise him of the issues pertaining to widening of Jyoti chowk to Kondhwa Gaothan, Jyoti Chowk to Bakers Point, Bhim Nagar and Cloud 9. He heard a lot from the citizens who were present and has called a meeting next week in his office. We are confident that he won’t let anyone suffer due to the road widening. Also the drainage issues of the societies ahead of Cloud 9 he informed the concerned authorities and asked them to get it resolved.”

Jyoti chowk to Bakers point – 24 meter
Jyoti chowk to Kondhwa – 36 meter
Cloud 9 road – 24 meter road – 10 meter existing road –
This road needs more 14 meters of widening.
The visit saw presence of Prasad Katkar, assistant municipal commissioner, Hadapsar ward office, V G Kulkarni, chief engineer, road department, Avinash Kamthe, junior engineer, road department, PMC, Sardar Patil, Senior Police inspector, Kondhwa Police station, Anwar Mulla, junior engineer, Sanjay Dhanwat, Senior SI, Hadapsar ward office, Navnath Shelar, Sanitary Inspector, Prabhag 26, Vasant Sasane, Prabhag 26, Sanitary Inspector.
