We had informed the police after the incident.”
Another attempt of the robbery took place at Ujjwal Park society on Thursday, December 8.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Neel Surendra, secretary of the society said, “Two people entered our society from the nala side. They entered with cutters and cut our barbed wires. They couldn’t enter into the building as a resident and security men raised an alarm. The beat marshalls came when we informed the police. But these robbers took advantage of the dark and ran towards nala side.”

When Pune Pulse spoke to the Senior Police Inspector of Kondhwa police station, Sardar Patil, he said, “Investigation shall be carried in these cases of robberies.”

Taking advantage of the dark, nala side and unattended plot of the corporation, robbers tried an attempt to theft also at Mayfair Eleganza phase 2 society on NIBM road.

Husnara Sayyed, chairman, of the society said, “There is one open plot besides our society. It is close to nala and has become a den for revellers. There were five people who entered our society from the nala side. An alert resident saw suspicious movement and raised an alarm. Since then the watchmen also shouted and charged at the robbers. They could not get through any place.”

Sayyed further said, “The nala besides our society has become a dumping spot. Often revellers make this space as their den. There are huge trees which need trimming. PMC should clean up the plot also so that there is no dumping. Overgrown branches are a boon to such people as they easily climb on them and jump in our society.”

Pune Pulse raised the issue of unattended spot next to Mayfair Eleganza with Shyam Taru, assistant municipal commissioner, Wanawadi Ramtekdi ward office he informed that the issue of tree cutting and cleaning of spot shall be taken up shortly.
