Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Mayor of Pune city Murlidhar Mohol has said that the state government has made available a special fund of Rs 200 crores for Pune city. They had requested Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to allot special funds for carrying out development work. The approval of this fund has once again highlighted that Devendra Fadnavis has a special focus on Pune.

As per further information from the X handle of Murlidhar Mohol “Due to technical difficulties, the municipal corporation could not spend the funds for the works of drains and construction of boundary walls in Pune city. For this, we have followed up with the state government and sanctioned Rs. 200 crores under special provision for development of basic amenities in the municipal sector. A government order in this regard has also been published.”

The X handle further says “Due to the available funds, protection/boundary walls will be constructed along the drains in the city, and the Ambil Odha area in particular will benefit greatly. These boundary walls will help to keep the water flowing during flood conditions. Due to heavy rainfall in a short time, an unfortunate incident took place in the Ambil river area in 2019, causing financial and human loss. These works are going to be important to avoid such a situation.”
