In a significant political move, Worli MLA and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray, alongside Karjat Jamkhed MLA and NCP (SP) leader Rohit Pawar, joined forces in Pimpri-Chinchwad’s Akurdi to rally support for Sanjog Waghere, the Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate for the Maval Lok Sabha seat.

The rally, held on Tuesday, drew considerable attention as Waghere filed his nomination papers following the event.

The rally commenced at 9:30 AM from Pimpri village, paying homage to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and proceeded to various landmarks including Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s memorial, Shagun Chowk, Kalewadi, Chinchwadgaon Mahasadhur Moraya Gosavi Temple, Krantiveer Chaphekar Bandhu Memorial, and Khandooba Temple in Akurdi. Starting the journey from Khandooba Mall, the procession concluded at Mhalasakant Chowk, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Chowk, and culminated at the railway station

Waghere’s political journey has been noteworthy, having transitioned from Ajit Pawar’s NCP to Shiv Sena (UBT) in December last year. With a strong foothold in the region, Waghere, hailing from Pimpri Gaon, brings years of experience as a three-time corporator of the PCMC and former mayor of the industrial city.

He also held the role of the NCP’s Pimpri-Chinchwad unit president. After the party’s division, Waghere aligned himself with the Ajit Pawar-led faction. Additionally, Waghere’s wife, Usha Waghere, has served as a corporator two times and chaired the PCMC standing committee. Furthermore, his father, Bhiku-Patil Waghere, served as the mayor of PCMC.

The upcoming elections in Maval present an intriguing contest, pitting Waghere against two-term MP Shrirang Barne of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. The Maval constituency, historically a Shiv Sena stronghold, is witnessing a competitive battle, reflecting broader political realignments within the state.

Sanjog Waghere’s nomination filing ceremony was marked by a robust show of strength from the Mahavikas Aghadi and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) alliance.

Prominent leaders including Aditya Thackeray, Manikrao Thakre of Congress, and MLA Rohit Pawar, among others, gathered to lend their support.

Later in the afternoon, Sanjog Waghere submitted his nomination for the Maval LokSabha Elections 2024 to the election officer, Dipak Singla

To file the nomination, prominent leaders including Aditya Thackeray of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Manikrao Thakre of Congress, Dr. Amol Kolhe of Shirur, MLA Rohit Pawar, Shiv Sena deputy leader and MLA Sachin Ahir, along with other prominent leaders from Mahavikas Aghadi (Shiv Sena-Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar), Shetkari Kamgar Party, and other organizations, gathered in large numbers

With the filing of his nomination, Waghere embarks on a new chapter in his political journey, poised to represent the aspirations and interests of the constituents in Maval.
