School teacher kidnapped for rejecting marriage proposal in Karnataka

In the Hassan district of Karnataka, a female school teacher was reportedly kidnapped in public by a man and his accomplices on Thursday after she declined his marriage proposal. The authorities have stated that the victim was subsequently rescued and the accused was apprehended.

As per the information provided, the victim, Arpitha, was forcibly taken into an Innova car by her relative Ramu and two accomplices while she was on her way to school in the morning. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera.

As per the information received, Ramu’s parents visited Arpitha’s house 15 days ago with a marriage proposal. However, Arpitha’s family rejected the proposal, which caused frustration and anger among Ramu and his family members.

Later, Arpitha’s mother lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that Ramu and Arpitha had been in a relationship before. Subsequently, the police initiated an abduction case and successfully traced the suspects to Somwarpet in Kodagu district.

The authorities are currently in the process of bringing them to Hassan, as per reports.
