Second Fire Incident in Pune : Firefighters Promptly Extinguish Massive Transformer Fire Near Tulshibaug

A significant fire outbreak on a transformer near Tulshibaug Ganapati was promptly extinguished by the PMC Fire Department on August 17th. This is the second incident reported in Pune since today morning.

Kamlesh Chaudhari, an official from the PMC Kasba Fire Department, conveyed, “We received an alert at 8:08 am regarding a substantial fire erupting near Tulshibaug Ganapati on a transformer. Our team rushed to the scene, anticipating an imminent short circuit. Employing both water and cooling techniques, we managed to quell the fire within a mere 15 to 20 minutes. MSEB officials were also on-site, swiftly disconnecting the electrical supply in the vicinity to prevent further electrical damage, which was subsequently restored.”

Chaudhari assured that the fire posed no harm to nearby shops or vehicles and thankfully, there were no casualties or injuries reported.

A total of four fire personnel participated in the operation, including one from the Kasba fire department and three firefighters.
