Security Breach Shocks Rohit Sharma as Woman Rushes Toward Him Outside Team Hotel | Watch
Shock and concern surrounded the Indian cricket team during the third ODI against New Zealand in Indore after a serious security lapse involving senior batter Rohit Sharma. An unexpected incident unfolded outside the team hotel when a woman managed to bypass security personnel and physically held Rohit Sharma’s arm, momentarily pulling him away as he was entering the premises.
A video of the episode, which quickly spread across social media platforms, shows Rohit appearing visibly surprised as the woman suddenly approaches him. Security officials intervened soon after, preventing the situation from escalating further.
Later, the woman appeared in another clip where she explained the reason behind her extreme step. She identified herself as Sarita Sharma and shared the heartbreaking circumstances that drove her actions. According to her, her daughter Anika is battling a severe medical condition and urgently requires a life-saving injection that costs nearly Rs 9 crore and must be sourced from the United States.
“My name is Sarita Sharma. My daughter Anika is critically ill, and the injection she needs to survive costs around Rs 9 crore and has to be brought from America. We have been trying everything possible, including organising small fundraising camps, and so far, we have managed to raise Rs 4.1 crore. Sadly, time is slipping away from us,” she said emotionally.
She further revealed that her intention was never to cause panic or invade anyone’s personal space but to seek help from well-known cricketers known for supporting charitable causes.

“During the India–New Zealand match, we attempted to approach some of the players hoping for assistance. We even set up a donation camp near the stadium, but the funds were not enough. I wanted to reach Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma because they have helped children in the past. Out of desperation, I went to the hotel where Rohit Sharma was staying. My emotions overwhelmed me, and I ended up holding his hand,” she explained.
Realising the seriousness of her actions, Sarita offered a heartfelt apology to everyone involved, including Rohit Sharma and the security authorities.
“I sincerely apologise for what happened. I was not there to take selfies or create any trouble. My only goal is to save my child’s life. I also apologise to the authorities for breaching security. I didn’t know any other way. I humbly request Virat sir and Rohit sir—if this message reaches you—please help my daughter,” she concluded.
