Senior PMPML officials issue directives, only PROs to speak to journalists - Pune pulse

Pune: In a recent move, a senior official of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) has issued a directive barring departmental heads and station managers from disclosing any information about PMPML to media personnel, including editors.
It is worthy to note that depot managers and departmental heads are frequently approached to address passenger concerns and service-related issues. However, the Joint Managing Director of PMPML issued an inter-departmental circular stipulating that information may only be disseminated through public relations officers, subject to the prior approval of the Joint Managing Director. It is noteworthy that a significant number of buses, ranging from 1,600 to 1,700, operate from various depots on city roads, transporting approximately 10 to 12 lakh passengers daily.
While talking to Pune Pulse, Satish Gate, PMPML PRO, added, ”This decision has been taken to avoid confusion and ensure the circulation of authentic information.”
