In the wee hours of Friday, Jaipur, Rajasthan experienced a series of earthquakes, causing panic among residents who rushed out of their homes. The National Centre for Seismology reported three tremors within a span of one hour, measuring 4.4, 3.1, and 3.4 on the Richter Scale. Fortunately, there were no casualties or damage to property. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the first tremor, measuring 4.4 on the Richter Scale, struck at 4.09 am, followed by a 3.1 magnitude earthquake at 4.22 am, and a 3.4 magnitude earthquake at 4.25 am.

The sudden tremors caused panic among the residents, who swiftly evacuated their homes and sought safety in open spaces. Social media platforms were flooded with pictures and videos showing people standing outside their buildings, still in shock from the seismic activity.

Fortunately, despite the intensity of the earthquakes, there have been no reported casualties or damage to property. The buildings in Jaipur appeared to have withstood the tremors without any significant structural impacts.

Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, also acknowledged the strong tremors in Jaipur and expressed her concern for the safety of the residents via Twitter. “I hope you are all safe!” she tweeted, extending her thoughts to the people of the affected area.

The series of earthquakes in Jaipur comes as a reminder of the region’s vulnerability to seismic activity. However, the absence of casualties and property damage highlights the importance of earthquake-resistant infrastructure and preparedness measures in such areas.

Authorities and geologists continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents. While the tremors have subsided, there is always the possibility of aftershocks, and residents are advised to remain cautious and stay informed about any further developments.

As the city recovers from the shock of the earthquakes, it serves as a testament to the resilience of its people and the importance of staying vigilant and prepared in earthquake-prone regions.
