Shankar Jagtap Files Nomination for Chinchwad, with MP Shrirang Barne and Minister Murlidhar Mohol Present
Thousands Gather in Show of Support as Key Leaders Unite for Jagtap’s Campaign
Chinchwad: Shankar Jagtap, representing an alliance of the BJP, NCP, Shiv Sena, RPI, and their partners, officially submitted his nomination today for the Chinchwad Assembly constituency. The filing took place at the ‘G’ Regional Office in Thergaon, overseen by Election Officer Anil Pawar, in front of a massive gathering of enthusiastic Chinchwad residents.
In attendance were prominent leaders, including Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol, Gujarat Home Minister Pradeep Singh Jadeja, MP Shrirang Barne, former MP Amar Sable, MLAs Ashwini Jagtap, Uma Khapare, and Amit Gorkhe, former Mayor Mai Dhore, NCP city president Yogesh Behl, Shiv Sena Deputy Leader Irfan Syed, BJP General Secretary Rajesh Pandey, and several other influential figures from the allied parties.
The event began with a tribute to the late leader Laxmanbhau Jagtap, with a rally that drew more than 50,000 supporters, passing through Pimple Gurav, Pimple Saudagar, and Rahatani. Traditional music, floral showers, and chants like “This time, Shankarbhau as MLA” filled the air as the crowd reached the nomination venue at Tapkir Chowk, where a grand statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was also honored.
Women’s participation was notably high, with supporters cheering from roadsides and rooftops. Shankar Jagtap later expressed deep gratitude to the leaders, party workers, and citizens, promising to focus on the all-round development of Chinchwad if elected. He urged residents to support him in the upcoming election on the 20th.
Local Leaders Dismiss Rumors of Discontent
In a unified front, former BJP corporater Shatrughna Kate and Sandeep Kaspate, Ram Wakadkar, and Rajendra Jagtap joined the rally to address and dispel any rumors of discord within the alliance, pledging their commitment to Shankar Jagtap’s victory.
