Mothers are often the unsung heroes in our lives, gracefully balancing numerous responsibilities with strength. This is particularly true for Constable Reena from the Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF), who recently captured the hearts of many on social media. While fulfilling her duties at New Delhi Railway Station, she demonstrated an incredible ability to care for both her baby and the safety of countless passengers.

A female constable from the Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) has gained significant attention on social media after a video of her went viral. The footage shows her diligently performing her duties at New Delhi Railway Station while carrying her sleeping baby. The RPF’s official X account shared the video, showcasing her remarkable talent in managing the crowd with a baton in one hand and her child securely nestled in a baby carrier on her chest.

In the post, the agency praised her, stating, “She serves, she nurtures, she does it all… A mother, a warrior, standing tall… Constable Reena from 16BN/RPSF performing her duties while carrying her child, representing the countless mothers who balance the call of duty with motherhood every day.”

The video captures Constable Reena in her uniform, attentively watching over passengers while her one-year-old sleeps peacefully in the carrier. As reported by The Times of India, she had been on leave but was called back to duty following a tragic stampede at the railway station that resulted in 18 fatalities.

Why did Reena carry her child to work?

Reena, who has been serving since 2014, is facing the challenge of balancing her work duties with raising her son. With her husband being a CRPF constable stationed in Jammu and Kashmir and no family support available due to her in-laws passing away, she has no one to look after her child. As a result, she brings her baby to work while actively searching for a caregiver.

“It’s just part of my routine now. I make sure the baby stays safe,” Reena explained. “I’m trying to find someone to help me, but until that happens, I’ll continue to manage,” she added.

According to reports, while on duty, Reena brings homemade Dalia porridge, a blanket, nappies, and milk for her child.

Following the tragic stampede, Indian Railways has decided to completely revamp its crowd-control strategies. The Railway Ministry intends to assign more staff, including officers of inspector rank, install more than 200 new CCTV cameras at stations in Delhi, and implement color-coded enclosures along with real-time crowd monitoring at 60 busy stations. Additionally, platform tickets will not be available for sale during peak hours for a duration of seven hours.
