Shilpa Shetty’s Mumbai restaurant Bastian Bandra to shut down, announces farewell night
Upscale Bandra hotspot, co-owned by Shilpa Shetty, to close doors this week after eight years of operation
Bastian Bandra, the popular Mumbai restaurant co-owned by actress Shilpa Shetty and restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, is set to shut down this week. The upscale dining spot, located on Linking Road in Bandra West, first opened in 2016 and moved to a larger multi-level space in 2023. Known for its seafood-focused menu, stylish interiors, and celebrity clientele, the restaurant quickly became one of Mumbai’s most sought-after dining destinations.
Announcing the closure, Shetty shared a heartfelt note on Instagram Stories: “This Thursday marks the end of an era as we bid farewell to one of Mumbai’s most iconic destinations — BASTIAN BANDRA. A venue that gave us countless memories, unforgettable nights, and moments that shaped the city’s nightlife now takes its final bow.” A special farewell evening will be hosted for loyal patrons to celebrate the restaurant’s journey.
While Bastian Bandra will close, its sister outlet, Bastian At The Top, located on the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square in Dadar West, will remain operational. The rooftop venue continues to attract diners with its panoramic city views and eclectic menu.
The announcement comes just weeks after Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra were booked by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in a Rs 60.4 crore cheating case filed by businessman Deepak Kothari, linked to their now-defunct company Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. The investigation into the allegations is ongoing.
