Pune, December 21, 2024 – The Pune Ring Road project, a critical infrastructure initiative aimed at reducing traffic congestion in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, remains stalled despite ₹42,000 crore in approved funding and 90% of the required land acquisition nearing completion.

During the Supplementary Demands – Public Works session in the Vidhan Sabha today, an MLA brought the issue to the forefront, highlighting the urgent need to expedite the project. The delay has left citizens grappling with daily traffic woes and hampered the region’s development.

“This long-pending project is essential to alleviate the growing traffic congestion faced by the residents of Pune and PCMC. The government must prioritize its execution and ensure that progress is not limited to plans but materializes for the benefit of the people,” the MLA stated.

The Pune Ring Road, envisioned as a transformative solution, promises to enhance connectivity and streamline traffic flow in the region. However, the delays have raised questions about the execution and commitment to public works initiatives.

The MLA urged the state government to take swift action to fast-track the project, emphasizing its significance for Pune’s urban development and the well-being of its citizens.
