After a video of staff members abusing a pet dog at their grooming facility went viral online, the public outcry forced Thane West’s Vetic Pet Clinic to close. Authorities responded to the incident after activists and animal lovers denounced it. Following the inhumane treatment of the animal and the recording of the event, two people were taken into custody.

As per further information from the X handle of user Vidit Sharma “Shocking incident at Vetic Vet Clinic in Mumbai Thane. Individuals responsible for such abuse should be behind bars. It’s imperative for proper background verification to be conducted before hiring grooming staff. This behaviour is utterly disgusting—no pet should ever endure such treatment.”

Videos of the Thane police making arrests have surfaced online, but the names of the people who were taken into custody have not been made public. Additionally, the pet clinic has been told to close.

The incident happened earlier this month when the dog’s owner went to celebrate their wedding in Thane and left the dog at the clinic. They had opted for the facility’s boarding services without realizing the abuse that would ensue.

The owner of the pet didn’t know about the incident until the video went viral and showed how much abuse their cherished dog had endured. After prompt action, the dog was moved to PetAshram, a Thane pet boarding facility, where it is reportedly making a full recovery.
