Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust tankers deliver life-saving water to remote areas in Purandar taluka. In a heartening move, the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust is extending a helping hand to villagers and wildlife in the hilly terrains of Purandar taluka.

Bird enthusiasts and local activists have praised the trust’s latest initiative. Manik Chavan, the president of the trust, emphasized their commitment to aiding communities during crises, stating, “Wildlife in hilly areas often migrates towards human settlements in search of food and water. Recognizing this, the trust has mobilized resources to provide water.”

Due to the sparse rainfall last year, natural water sources and bodies in the region have dried up, resulting in a drought-like situation. The trust’s disaster management committee has taken charge, deploying tankers to supply water to villages facing the brunt of the water scarcity. Valhe, Gaikdwadi, Ambajichiwadi, Mukadamwadi, and Rananvarewad are among the villages benefiting from this crucial initiative.

Chavan explained, “Since the monsoon, two tankers have been tirelessly delivering water to many villages in Purandar taluka. This not only aids residents facing water shortages but also ensures a lifeline for the wildlife in the region.”

In addition to catering to human needs, the trust is also releasing the surplus water into farm ponds, addressing the water scarcity challenges faced by pets and wildlife. This multi-pronged approach showcases the trust’s dedication to serving the community and preserving the delicate balance of nature.
