Pramod Nana Bhangire, a visionary leader and advocate for urban innovation, has unveiled his ambitious plan to transform Mahadev Wadi–Undri into Pune’s first Hi-Tech and sustainable model ward. The initiative aims to merge technology, green practices, and community-focused development, setting a benchmark for modern urban living in the city.
Bhangire’s vision focuses on creating a smart, clean, and resilient ward with advanced infrastructure, eco-friendly systems, and inclusive growth opportunities. “Mahadev Wadi–Undri can serve as a model for the entire city—a place where technology empowers citizens, sustainability drives progress, and local communities thrive,” he said.

KEY FOCUS AREAS
SMART WATER AND SANITATION –
The plan includes rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, smart water meters, decentralized sewage treatment, and 24×7 clean water supply to ensure efficient and sustainable water management.
SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT & CIRCULAR ECONOMY –
Residents will benefit from door-to-door waste segregation, community composting, biogas plants, and authorized plastic and e-waste centers, alongside support for local recycling and upcycling ventures.
RENEWABLE ENERGY & SMART POWER –
Rooftop solar panels, solar-powered LED streetlights, microgrids, and public awareness programs will drive energy efficiency and green power adoption across the ward.
SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY & TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT –
Plans include bicycle tracks, green pedestrian corridors, EV charging stations, smart traffic monitoring, and enhanced public transport to promote safe, clean, and eco-friendly mobility.
