Society Chairman To Receive Lists Of Property Tax Defaulters For Immediate Action, Informs PCMC
Pimpri: To address unassessed properties, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) Tax Assessment and Collection Department has appointed M/s Sthapatya Consultants Pvt. Ltd., a private company, to conduct a comprehensive survey of properties across the city. As part of this survey, 64,260 new properties were assessed, and property tax bills were issued to these properties.
Of these, 56,232 properties from 690 housing societies were issued tax bills, revealing dues totaling ₹69.56 crore from 36,980 defaulters across 651 societies. The Tax Collection Department has been consistently reminding defaulters via SMS and tele-calling to pay their outstanding dues.
The department has now decided to send detailed lists of defaulters, including names and amounts owed, to the presidents or chairpersons of the respective societies. Society presidents are requested to display these lists prominently on notice boards, share them on society WhatsApp groups, and encourage members with pending dues to clear their payments immediately.
“A comprehensive property survey is underway through M/s Sthapatya Consultants Pvt. Ltd. to register and assess unassessed properties in the city. Despite repeated appeals through various channels, several defaulters have not paid their dues. Lists of defaulters will now be shared with society presidents, who are urged to appeal to their members for prompt payment of property taxes.”
