Speeding Eicher Tempo Sparks Major Crash at Lavale Phata; Five Vehicles Damaged, CCTV Captures Shocking Moment
Panic gripped Lavale Phata in Mulshi taluka on Tuesday afternoon after a speeding Eicher tempo went out of control and smashed into multiple vehicles, leaving several people seriously injured. The dramatic sequence of events, now captured on CCTV, shows just how quickly the situation escalated on the busy stretch of road in Pune district.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred after the tempo’s brakes allegedly failed, causing the driver to lose control. The heavy vehicle first struck a rickshaw and a car before ploughing into two motorcycles, hitting a total of five vehicles. In the impact, the tempo’s wheel ran over a motorcyclist’s leg, leaving him critically injured. Four to five others also sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing medical treatment.
Local residents rushed to the scene immediately after the crash and helped shift the injured to a nearby hospital without delay. Several vehicles suffered significant damage due to the force of the collision.
CCTV footage that has surfaced clearly shows the tempo moving at high speed, knocking down two-wheeler riders and crashing into vehicles ahead, triggering chaos in the area. The incident created fear and confusion among bystanders for some time. Paud Police in Mulshi have launched a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and to fix responsibility.
