State gets 23 new conservation reserves, 5 sanctuaries and 4 heritage sites

Out of the 23 newly created conservation reserves, 9 conservation reserves have been notified and the process of issuing notification for the remaining conservation reserves is underway.

Pune: Maharashtra state has seen growth in forest areas in the last two and half years as 23 new conservation reserves of 1750.63 sq. Km, 5 new sanctuaries of 647.1294 sq. Km and 4 biodiversity heritage sites of 85.89 hectares have been created.
