Joy and pride overflowed in Ikodia village, Ashok Nagar district, Madhya Pradesh, when Mona Dangi, daughter of a local farmer, achieved the 12th rank in the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) Provincial Civil Services (PCS) 2023 exam. Overwhelmed with happiness, she immediately called her mother to share the life-changing news.

Through tears of emotion, Dangi said, “Now you will be called the Deputy Collector’s mother.” Her mother, still in disbelief, asked her to double-check the results, to which Dangi replied, “There is no other Mona Dangi.” The heartfelt conversation quickly went viral, resonating with viewers across social media.

Mona Dangi’s journey highlights resilience and dedication. Currently posted as Inspector, Goods and Services Tax (GST), in Indore—a position earned after clearing an earlier exam in 2022—she began preparing for the MPPSC exam during the COVID-19 lockdown. Despite limited resources, her father ensured she received a solid education. She completed her schooling at Government Girls Higher Secondary School and later earned undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. Her accomplishment marks not only a personal triumph but also serves as inspiration for many young aspirants from rural backgrounds.
